A “reciprocal link” is the direct link between two websites.

Example: Hans and Franz have websites. Hans points with a link to Franz and Franz with a link to Hans. The websites of the two are reciprocal linked.

Although this practice (reference pages, partner sites and buddy lists) is widespread, one should refrain from doing so if possible.
